Description

When syslog server is not running, almost all e-smith command fail with following error:

no connection to syslog available
    - /dev/log is not a socket at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/esmith/Logger.pm line 44

Every command should always be able to do its own job regardless of syslog status.

  • Stop syslog: service rsyslog stop
  • Signal an event
  • Change a property inside the db
  • Check all modifications take place regardless of rsyslog status
